MP and honorary president of the Motorists' Party Filip Turek accused President Petr Pavel of "intelligence practices". The head of state's behavior allegedly reeks of the former regime, the still unsuccessful candidate for minister added in response to Pavel's publication of the latest communication from Foreign Minister Petr Macinka, who was once again exerting pressure on Turek to be appointed head of the Ministry of the Environment.
"The president is repeatedly oversensitive, especially paradoxically given his past. He flaunts the constitution and laws that he himself actively and repeatedly does not comply with. He calls me a controversial person, while he has a brutal and real communist past and, as an adult, approved the occupation of our country," announced Turek.
The MP accused the president of manipulating positions in the government and of "accusing others of blackmail, just as senselessly as he presented legal reasons for my appointment when they demonstrably do not exist."
"The president's behavior reeks very unpleasantly of the former regime; just publishing private correspondence would be considered humiliating and unacceptable by any man. So when we see the content of the messages and have basic cognitive functions, we see that this is not blackmail," added Turek.
