Filip Turek

Candidate for the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, MEP, honorary president of the Motoristé sobe movement

Filip Turek is an entrepreneur, racer, collector of classic cars and today above all an MEP who is not afraid to say things out loud. As a political newcomer, he received over 152,000 preferential votes in the 2024 European Parliament elections - a result that only a handful of leaders of established parties have achieved.

Since then, his name has been associated with the courage to stand up to Brussels bureaucracy, defend Czech industry and defend freedom of choice against an EU directive.

In the European Parliament, he immediately became a member of three key committees - for industry, environment and consumer protection - and from the position of head of the Czech delegation in the Eurogroup of Patriots for Europe, he became an audible voice of common sense. In his work, he focuses on realistic ecology, job protection, energy availability, and saving the automotive industry, which he considers the backbone of the Czech economy.

His proposal to revise emission fines was supported by over 40 MEPs across the political spectrum – a result that proves that even a “newcomer from the Czech Republic” can influence European politics. He actively opposes the ban on combustion engines, which he calls a “destructive experiment with the economy and freedom.”

Life path and motivation

Filip Turek comes from an ordinary family and grew up in Prague’s Jižní Město. His parents had no political or communist past, and although he grew up without privileges, he was driven from a young age by a desire for freedom, personal responsibility, and forging his own path. This is what naturally led him to a right-wing worldview.

He built his career from scratch – as a successful classic car dealer, founder of the Jaguar Club of the Czech Republic and later also a racer. In addition to motoring, he has been interested in history, architecture and geopolitics all his life.

He entered politics at a time when EU regulations began to directly interfere not only with his profession, but also with the everyday lives of millions of people. He felt that the values he grew up with – freedom, professionalism, hard work – were beginning to be threatened. And he decided to take action.

Political vision

Filip Turek is today one of the most prominent critics of the Green Deal, emission fines and EU interventions, which he believes are undermining the Czech economy.

He speaks out strongly against the ban on combustion engines, defends affordable energy and draws attention to the impacts of over-regulated environmental policy on industry, agriculture and the everyday lives of ordinary citizens.

His proposals for reforming emissions rules and capping sanctions for car manufacturers have won the support of dozens of MPs from various factions. Thanks to this, he has gained respect in the European Parliament as a voice of common sense and technical expertise.

In the elections to the Chamber of Deputies, he is leading the candidate in the Central Bohemian Region, which he considers the heart of the Czech economy. He wants to bring his European experience home - and participate in concrete changes in transport, energy, business and the protection of personal freedom.

Why right now?

Filip Turek believes in the Czech Republic, which does not slow down its citizens, but helps them grow. In a country where the state serves, not commands. In a country where hard work is not eliminated, but responsibility is encouraged. He is ready to bear responsibility not only as an MP, but also as a person who has the vision, experience and courage to make difficult decisions.
