At the microphone stood the beautiful Inna Puhajková, among the guests were actress Markéta Hrubešová with her daughter and singer Kate Matl. The company Sferis was celebrating its birthday at Prague’s FU Bar, and it was a fairly ordinary party—until the sound of roaring engines filled the street. Soon after, two passionate car enthusiasts arrived: MEP Filip Turek and businessman Richard Chlad—each in a different Bugatti.
The inseparable duo of fast-car lovers had earlier launched the heated phase of Filip Turek’s pre-election campaign in Central Bohemia, where he is leading the Motorists for Themselves candidate list. Hundreds of supporters turned up there.
Although Richard Chlad has long rejected entering politics himself, he strongly supports his close friend and the entire party—not only financially but also by showcasing pieces from his collection of luxury cars at various events, always drawing attention.
That was certainly the case with the Bugatti Chiron and Bugatti Veyron—sports cars worth tens of millions, with only a few hundred examples worldwide. The well-known billionaire owns both models, and it was in these very cars that he and Filip Turek arrived at Prague’s FU Bar.
“We drove into the center of Prague for the Sferis celebration, but we only arrived for the closing part. Of course, we got soaked, and for about ten minutes we blocked Dlouhá Street because of car fans,” Richard Chlad told Expres with amusement.
“The funny thing was that on the highway, they were some of the slowest cars! Even vans were overtaking us, and everyone was laughing, filming, and taking pictures because no one could believe that two Bugattis were driving at the legal speed limit. Poor Filip is already worn out from all of this, and I’m starting to feel the same. I’m being careful so I don’t drive myself into poor health,” he added, referring to the stir caused some time ago by Filip Turek’s fast driving on the highway.
At the lively party, the attention wasn’t just on the cars but also on their drivers. Alongside fans, actress Lucie Ottová also took a photo with Chlad and Turek. Both men later headed to the bar.
“We just had a symbolic non-alcoholic mojito and toasted the fact that car manufacturers have finally woken up—thanks in part to the pressure Filip and his colleagues are putting on the European Commission. I believe that soon the bans on combustion engine production, the nonsensical emissions allowances, and similar measures will be lifted,” Richard Chlad explained hopefully.
The party was also attended by a number of other well-known faces. The event was hosted by Inna Puhajková, and actress Markéta Hrubešová with her daughter, singer Kate Matl, and model Eliška Bučková were all present.
