It will be the biggest coalition clash, said Turek about preparing the budget for next year

A tough fight within the coalition over the shape of the state budget for next year is predicted by Filip Turek, the government's representative for climate policy and the Green Deal, an MP for Motoristy sobe and their honorary president. "It will be the biggest coalition clash," he estimated. "There are three options so far," he said of the preparation of the state budget for next year, which he said is being discussed at the budget committee level.

"We will defend the lowest possible spending. If mandatory spending is not touched, not much can be done about the deficit," he told reporters upon arriving for Monday's government meeting.

According to him, the legacy of the previous government is also a problem for reducing the deficit. "There was an overall inflation of 34 percent," he argued.

"We will talk about which expenses are investments," he said, adding that his party wants a smaller state that interferes less with people's rights.

Turek admitted that the Motorists will not succeed in gradually reducing the deficit to zero in this election period, as they originally promised. "I'm afraid that's an unrealistic idea," the honorary president of the Motorists told himself.

In March, the Chamber of Deputies approved this year's state budget with a deficit of 310 billion crowns, which was submitted by the government of Andrej Babiš. It was supported only by deputies from the governing coalition ANO, SPD and Motoristé sobě.
